Hav & Mar
Hav & Mar from Chef Marcus Samuelsson is named for Ocean in Swedish and Honey in Amharic, a nod to the culinary cues the restaurant takes from Samuelsson's dual heritage as well as the influence of African roots in modern Black cuisine. Hav & Mar is located in the Starrett-Lehigh building in the renowned arts district of Chelsea.
The visual identity and experience of Hav & Mar were brought to life through original and site-specific artwork created by critically-acclaimed artist and Creative Partner Derrick Adams and designed by Atelier Zébulon Perron.
Focused on thoughtfully sourced seafood ranging from globally-inspired small plates to family-style feasts prepared in an open kitchen, Hav & Mar draws from the diverse culinary influences of its team, including Executive Chef Fariyal Abdullahi, Head Baker Farheen Jafarey and General Manager Franshelis Montalvo. The result is a festive and flavorful menu, complemented by a dynamic craft cocktail program and an extensive wine list led by Beverage Director Rafa García Febles.
