Born in the Dominican Republic but raised in the Bronx, Franshelis is proud to represent the cultures that raised her wherever she goes. Her original track in life was to become a Forensic Scientist, having studied this at John Jay university, but after her first job in hospitality over a decade ago, Franshelis quickly realized her passion was with restaurants.
Most recently, Franshelis was with Boqueria Restaurants for over 9 years where she was the company’s Senior GM having quickly worked her way up from a bartending position. There she led both FOH and BOH operations at multiple locations. Under her management, she led her teams with both head and heart, creating connections across the company and giving her managers the tools and confidence to excel within their careers. At one time, there were seven people in leadership positions across the company that started with her as hourly employees. Franshelis is passionate about creating a work environment that fosters compassion, equity and safety.
